We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in Cameroon. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, develop and implement sales strategies, and build a high-performing sales team.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand Verto's customer base in the CEMAC region with a focus on XAF.
- Conduct market research and analyse competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including upselling and cross-selling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer success, to deliver optimal solutions for clients.
- Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts, including pipeline management and performance tracking.
- Use data to accurately track and report sales performance, refining strategies based on insights.
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitors, and developments in the CEMAC market.
- Establish and implement sales processes, including enablement and training programs.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
Key Success Metrics:
- Grow Revenue: Achieve a measurable increase in sales revenue within the next 12 months.
- Sales Cycle Length: Reduce the average sales cycle in the CEMAC region.
- Conversion Rate: Increase the conversion rate of leads to opportunities by 25% within the next 9 months.
- Sales Team Productivity: Boost the average number of sales calls/meetings per week.
- Sales Forecast Accuracy: Ensure accurate and actionable sales forecasting.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sales management experience, ideally in payments, banking, or related industries within a B2B context.
- Proven track record of meeting revenue targets and building successful sales teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.
- Deep understanding of SMBs and strong contacts within key business sectors across the CEMAC region.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in international trade, logistics, or payments/banking.
- Knowledge of African markets and trade regulations, particularly within the CEMAC zone.
- Fluency in French (mandatory) and additional local languages spoken within CEMAC countries (e.g., Fang, Ewondo, Sango).
- Familiarity with regional payment systems, such as BEAC settlement protocols.
- Experience with sales analytics and performance management tools.
- Certification in sales management or a related field.
- Background in developing sales enablement and training programs.
